Do Most Women Prefer Brother-like Men?

As creepy as it may sound, the fair sex is not indifferent to those who look like their elder or younger brother. This fact is clearly visible in the popular modern TV series "Game of Thrones".

There is a stereotype that a boy should look like a dad and a girl like a mother. But researchers at Northumbria University have found that when choosing a life partner, people are often guided by genetic characteristics that most people do not even know about.

Even without realizing it, each person tries to find something familiar in the face and behavior of a potential partner, since they subconsciously begin to respect and trust such a person, quickly accept him into their life, feel sympathy for him. Therefore, very often girls stare at men who even remotely resemble their brother, without even knowing it. They are not specifically looking for such a man who will be a copy of his brother, but the subconscious mind is able to play such a joke.

Thirty-two women were invited to prove this claim. They were told to bring portraits of a brother or boyfriend. These pictures were shown to the subjects interspersed with photos of celebrities or strangers to confuse the subjects and confuse them.

The women had to study the photographs for a few minutes. After that, they asked to choose a picture of a person more similar to their boyfriend. Interestingly, almost all of the study participants chose their brother. This proves the assumption that girls prefer men who look like their close relative, but they themselves do not even know about it.
